Jon Jones Stripped of Light Heavyweight Title, Suspended Indefinitely

The story's just broke via FOX Sports that Jon Jones has been suspended indefinitely by UFC, and has vacated the Light Heavyweight Championship.

Jones turned himself in on April 27, after being charged with felony hit-and-run in Albuquerque, NM, injuring a pregnant woman the previous morning. Jones posted $2500 bail and did not enter a plea.

As for the May 23 fight, Anthony Johnson will now be facing Daniel Cormier, whom Jones narrowly edged in a competitive fight on January 3, for full recognition as UFC's Light Heavyweight Champion.

For his part, Jones tweeted out today, "Got a lot of soul searching to do. Sorry to everyone I've let down."
