There had to have been some sort of allowance before, since The Wolves wrestled at CZW's Cage of Death in December against Jake and Dave Crist, and I don't believe that was rendered dark from the telecast. Maybe that had to do with the lull TNA was in at the time?
That said, maybe Kurt Angle can win this year's CZW Tournament of Death, just to show that he can do *anything*.
